Dirtbag Drinks
For all you climbers too cheap to buy the good stuff, I’ve compiled a list of a few classic drinks with a twist, a little modification that’s more wallet friendly while you try and save your cash for more important things, like gasoline or prostitutes.
Whiskey Sour
Classic Way:
- 1 ½ oz. Whiskey
- sour mix (1 tsp. lemon juice, .5 tsp sugar, water)
- maraschino cherry
Dirtbag Way: (does not include measurements, guesstimating is more fun)
- Wild Turkey 101
- fresca
Mimosa
Classic Way:
- Champagne
- orange juice
Dirtbag Way:
- whatever’s left from your 40 from last night
- Sunny D
*Also known as a Brass Monkey
Gimlet
Classic Way:
- 1 ½ oz Gin
- 1 oz. lime juice
- 1 tsp. powdered sugar
Dirtbag Way
- Gin
- limeade
Long Island Iced Tea
Classic Way:
- ¼ oz. gin
- ¼ oz. vodka
- ¼ oz. spiced rum
- ¼ oz. tequila
- ¼ oz. tripple sec
- 1 oz. sweet and sour mix
- 6 oz. cola
- 1 lemon wedge
Dirtbag Way:
- whatever liquors you brought with you
- Coca-Cola
Bloody Mary:
Classic Way:
- 1 oz. Vodka
- 3 oz. tomato juice
- 2 dashes red hot sauce
- 2 dashes green hot sauce
- 1 dash worcestershire sauce
- ½ oz. lemon juice
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- 1 stalk celery
Dirtbag Way
- vodka
- tomato juice
- tobasco
- salt and pepper
- no celery – veggies are overrated
Tom Collins
Classic Way:
- 1 ¼ Gin
- 1 oz. lemon or lime juice
- 1 tsp. sweet and sour mix
- 1 splash club soda
- 1 slice orange
