Bryce Viola managed to put to bed an old Bass for your Face project this week. Viola climbed, what he is calling Cosa Nostra and has given it a grade of V12. “The boulder problem happens to be 10 minutes away from my house,” Viola says. “So this summer I decided to dedicate some time into it.” It only took the burgeoning young climber about 12 sessions to put together what Josh Lowell and John Kuphal, two climbers who primarily worked the problem in the past. “Josh Lowell and John Kuphal were the ones primarily working it years ago,” Viola recounts. “Josh figured out the bottom and John figured out the top, however neither of them were ever able to link it all together.” The problem is long and demanding so it took Viola some time to work up the endurance to complete it.
