Ken Murphy Takes Down Gnar Wall Project

David Crothers May 30, 2014 Latest News

Ken Murphy got the first ascent of the Gnar Wall project at the Brant Lake Boulders in the Adirondacks last week. Originally there was a wooden platform under the problem, which was removed because of decay. The Gnar Wall problem has over 20 hand movements on clean/quality rock, steep climbing and a highball finish.  Stiff V11, that will never see a downgrade (Murph’s statement).

Does it have a name now?

Why did he “take it down”? Why didn’t he leave it up for others to climb?
