Jes Meiris and Quinn Brett Set a New Women’s Speed Record for The Nose!

There is this thing in Yosemite called the Nose and apparently people like to climb it really really fast. Jes Meiris and Quinn Brett smashed the women’s record.

Jes Meiris and Quinn Brett just broke the women’s speed record yesterday, June 10th.They shimmied up that schnoz in 10 hours and 19 minutes, a whole 20 minutes faster than Libby Sauter and Chantel Astorga who held the record since September 2011. Meiris and Brett both hail from Colorado, Colorado Springs and Estes Park, respectively. Meiris is currently a climbing coach for a competitive climbing team in Colorado Springs during the winter and favors bolted climbing over trad but is very experienced in both (OBVIOUSLY), she also works closely with the Rocky Mountain Field Institute. Quinn Brett is a Trango Grassroots Athlete as well as owner of the climbing-yoga company Dovetail Mountain Endeavors. These two hold the record over three other teams of women who have set previous records on the nose.
