24-year-old New York climb, James Watts was killed on Friday after an avalanche swept him out of Pinnacle Gully in Huntington Ravine. He was soloing the gully when the avalanche let loose, carrying him 1,000ft. below the gully. It is unclear whether Watts triggered the avalanche or it came down on its own. His body was found by a hiker, who happened to be an emergency room physician. No vital signs were found when his body was discovered. Our condolences to his friends and family.
