Climbing Around the World

Here is the new section of Climberism. Although I bring to the table interesting and fun climbing news from the Northeast. The climbing world is big and there are a ton of things going on in it. So I have created Climbing Around the World to bring readers some interesting events and news that is happening in the international climbing community.

Swedish Climbing Federation is implementing a route naming policy, because of a recent outcry from a Swedish historian and sport climber Cordelia Hess. He was apparently climbing at the G√•seborg crag when he noticed that some of the names there had a Nazi theme to them. Some of the names were,¬†”3rd Reich”, “Swastika” and “Himmler” The route naming policy is being put in place in order to eliminate the controversial names at hand. La Reina Mora (8c+) in Siurana, Spain

Mikey Schaefe and Colin Haley make an awesome ascent of what they are calling the Diablo Traverse, 5.10 A2. The traverse climbs up and over the very aesthetic Devil’s Thumb on the British Colombia and Alaskan border.
