You can poop in the woods, but remember a few key things…

  • Dig a hole about 200 feet away from any traffic, water, or where your going to lay your head for the evening.
  • Hey ladies, try and remember a plastic bag for feminine products, they don’t decompose and critters may dig them up.
  • Don’t bring your bathroom from home, no baby wipes unless you are carrying them out, and use your TP sparingly it’s better for the woods and you never know when you’ll need more.
  • A laid-over log does the job nicely
  • Squatting while resting your back on a tree or a rock gives you a workout and a nice perch avoiding splash back and rolling logs.
  • Beware of fire ants…
  • I gotta skeeter on my… knock it off! Yup, and a horse fly, and a black fly. The bugs can be bad!

- Women think climbing is the sexiest sport according to a recent pool, so look your best when your out there, you never know who’s watching…

- Just a reminder… a guidebook is no substitute for skill, experience, judgment and lots of tension. – Charlie Fowler

- The heat can be a bit overwhelming so be sure to choose your climbing area with a swimming hole next to it! There are plenty in the Northeast.

- The most important thing to remember is to keep it real, climb on, feed the addiction, and have fun! Summer is almost over… Ice be forming in no time!
