I have been looking forward to 24 hours of Waterbury for a while now and on August 28th at 9:00 a.m. it all comes together. There will be good food and drink, the sponsors list keeps getting bigger, and the running loop is in one fine area! Thinking about running? Registering for the event is easy and there are options for teams too. We would love to see you there pushing your limit. Don’t be shy, there are small running options too. If you don’t want to run but want to get involved volunteers are needed for this amazing event, if you are interesting in volunteering opportunities contact Chris. Come join us for a wonderful event supporting and raising money for CragVT whether your running or not, the more the merrier! A special thanks to the Vermont Mountain Bike Association for maintaining these trails.

August 28, 2010, 9:00 AM – August 29, 2010, 9:00 AM

1 Day.  24 Hours.  1440 Minutes.  That is how long you will have to push your body to its limit.  To test yourself and see what lies at your core.  To figure out what you will do when you reach the darkest moments and happiest hours.  To punish your body and discover the depth of your soul.  Welcome to 24 Hours In Waterbury.

The melodrama aside, this is no frivolous task: to run the trails on Perry Hill, in Waterbury, Vermont for an entire day. Simply by looking at this site, you are one of a very select few willing to even consider the possibility of running tough (but beautiful) trails for 12 or 24 hours in a row.  You can’t fake a 12 or 24 hour run.  You have to commit.  You have to prepare.  You probably already hold an ethos of personal excellence, but may be asking, “Can I really do this?  Can I really run for a whole day?” Remember, most people will never make the commitment.
If you do commit, you can count on one thing being certain: we will provide the physical and moral support to make sure the experience is as challenging, successful, and enlightening as possible.
When the training miles and hours are logged, the course is marked, the aid stations set, and all that is left is you, on Saturday, August 28, at 9:00 AM, waiting to hear “GO,” asking yourself, “What am I doing today?” there is only one way to discover the answer.
Come to Waterbury this summer and find out.  REGISTER HERE.

  • Food

Foods/Drinks We Plan On Having (that said, plans are just that. They aren’t set in stone.):

* Fruit
* Some type of gel
* Some type of sports drink
* Water
* Coconut Water
* Chia drink (again, a personal favorite – I shamelessly hopped on the Tarahumara bandwagon, and am glad I did. Oh yes, please Raw Food World, come through with a modest amount of free chia seed!)
* Soda, made flat or not
* Oatmeal
* Mac ‘n’ Cheese
* Sandwiches (assorted varieties, potentially including but not limited to peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese, turkey, meatball)
* Hamburgers/hot dogs
* Soup
* Miso Soup
* Sushi (We’ll probably stick with veggie rolls/California rolls.)
* Candy
* Trail mix
* Pretzels
* Chips
* Cookies
* Ice Cream
* Cider and cider donuts
* Coffee
* Yogurt
* Sweet Rolls (While not typical of race day fare, my mom is an exceptional cook/baker. If you all are very nice, I am guessing she would make one her amazing confections for you to enjoy during the run. They are so good that if at any point you feel like giving up, you won’t so that you can justify eating as many of these things as you can when you finally do stop).
* ____________________________ (This line represents the place that will be filled by your requests and desires).
